Atlanta has more people walking, biking and scooting than ever, and more of them getting hurt.
Scooter riders
- Hit by a car: the driver and their insurance may be responsible, like any crash.
- Scooter malfunction: brakes, throttles or wheels that fail can point to the scooter company or manufacturer.
- Road hazards: potholes and broken pavement can matter.
Atlanta has its own rules for shared scooters, including where and when they can be ridden. Breaking a rule doesn’t automatically end your claim, but it can affect it.
Check the app agreement. Scooter rental apps often include terms about claims and arbitration. We review them.
On the BeltLine
The BeltLine’s trails are shared by walkers, runners, cyclists and scooters. Collisions there can involve other users, and sometimes trail conditions.
